A Fund Raising Calendar Provides a Road Map

A good organizer will create a fund raising calendar to steer a campaign to raise money for a good cause. There are many times when funds are not available for good causes so groups can organize a fund raising event. Some of these campaigns raise extraordinary sums of money. The campaign might be to raise funds for the cheerleading team at a high school or a political candidate. The sums could be just a few dollars at a bake sale or a thousand dollar a plate dinner at a fancy hotel. The one thing a successful campaign will have is a fund raising calendar for planning and execution.

A good fund raising calendar will be one of the first accomplishments of the person or committee in charge of the project. This fund raising calendar should give the start date and the end date. One of the first things on the calendar should be the date of the first organizational meeting. At this meeting, the members can fill in many of the blanks on the fund raising calendar. The end date should be added to the fund raising calendar as soon as possible in order to fill in the blanks on the major milestones to completion of the project.

A Fund Raising Calendar Will Guide All of the Participants

A fund raising calendar does not have to be set in stone. This should be a decision of the organizers. If the calendar remains fluid, all of the stakeholders should be aware of the opportunity for changes. Once the calendar is fixed, all of the participants should have a copy available so everyone remains informed of the important dates and times. Advanced notice of the important meetings and events should go a long way to keep people on time and in attendance. This does not mean everyone will keep to the fund raising calendar, but it should make a significant contribution to prompt attendance.

The fund raising calendar should include all important information. Every meeting should be on the calendar as soon as the date and time are known. The important deadlines should be on the calendar. Deadlines are important, and if people do not know them, there could be total and constant confusion. The fund raising calendar should also have some indications of goals and objectives. The totals for specific time periods should be noted on the calendar.
